The Daejeon area was historically known as Hanbat (한밭), a native Korean term for "large field.” The Daejeon Dullesan Road is a specialized trail path divided into 12 sections, which adds up to approximately 300-ri (133 km), to enable visitors to enjoy the great views of Daejeon. Section 1 is the road between the Sirubong Peak of Bomunsan Mountain and Geumdonggogae Pass; Section 2 is between the Geumdonggogae Pass and Maninsan Rest Area; Section 3 is the course with the forest of the Three States Period and the “Meodeulryeonggogae Pass” where people used to pass as they carried bundles on their back; Section 4 is the course leading to Sikjangsan Mountain and where you can overlook the entire view of Daejeon; Section 5 is a relatively easy trail with a mountain fortress; Section 6 is the course having a confluence point where Gapcheon Stream originated from Daedunsan Mountain flows into Geumgang River; Section 7 is the Geumbyeongsan Mountain Course with particularly beautiful scenery; Section 8 is the Gaphasan Mountain course where you can get the real joy of mountain climbing; Section 9 has a scenic view with its dense forest and valley; Section 10 is the road from the Yongbawi Rock (dragon-shaped rock) and the Beombawi Rock (tiger-shaped rock) to the Bangdong Reservoir; Section 11 is the Gubongsan Mountain, which is course known to be a place of enjoyment for Taoist hermits; and Section 12 is the trail stretching from Ppuri Park and Kkachi Pass to Sirubong Peak. As such, the Daejeon Dullesan Road is a great place for visitors to enjoy trekking for their health.
